Norwalk, CT – Norwalk Public Library is pleased to announce that its Children’s library now has Healing Library Kits available for patrons to borrow. These kits are designed to make a family’s journey of healing following a trauma easier to navigate and personalize. Now, families can explore and share in the healing experience, while engaging in social and emotional learning together. Healing Library Kits may be borrowed for a three week period. The craft supplies included in each kit are for children to keep. To reserve your Healing Library Kit, call the Children’s library: (203) 899-2780 ext. 15131.
The following Healing Kits are currently available at the library:
Death of a Loved One
Death of a Pet
Separation and Divorce
Alzheimer’s and Your Family
Each kit contains picture books on the subject; a binder with a guide on how to navigate the difficult times with children; a bag with craft supplies; and a bundle of paper/card stock, with which children can make journals, write letters, or create artwork to help them express and communicate their feelings.
Norwalk Public Library remains committed to providing resources to promote the health and welfare of the community.
